Ok, granted, it may not be the best thing to ever happen, but I don't see ANY valid argument when you start saying that the Unit Workshop is not good enough.
Take a real life example:
The US is going to war. They have a few different chassis'(chassisi?); planes, tanks, infantry, submarines, ships, missles.
Ok, they can pretty much give all these units(except missles) the following: guns, missle launchers, grenades, etc...
They have a limited selection of armor. So, in comes IDF to the pentagon and says:
"Hey you motherfers! Make some new units! I'm tired of this Stealth Fighter bull****, why can't you make your units look better? Make em look like Civ2 you s*eaters!"
Man, get a f*ing life. Most games (ALL rts games) give you specific, premade units. Be thankfull. I've never played Civ2 (or 1), but from all the things I've read apparently there were a lot of premade units. That sucks.

I would just like to say that idf is a jackass. Anyone with enough time to post 300 times in a couple of days has no life whatsoever. Just for the record, I am still under 100 postings. Way under.

actually he makes no arguments. It's even useless to point out how contradictory his arguments are. He doesn't like custom factions, I told him he could change the factions and make them the same. But the bitching continues. I told him where to find a civ2 forum but hasn't went there yet.

I like the unit workshop. Sure it could be a lot better, but it could be non-existant like it is in just about every game, I used to HATE most of the Civ 2 units, now I just don't design such useless P.O.S. units.
