I think this game would be much better if Sid Meier had made it.

No, it wouldn't have because Sid, Brian, and Jeff riggs have been working together so long that I think whatever product comes out, it would be the same or comprable to antoher..............sorry if that's confusing

I completely agree. That's why I keep saying that Civ2 is almost the same as Aloha Centauri.

First off, I don't hate Brian Reynolds.
Second off, the game MIGHT have been a bit different if Sid had been the Lead rather than Brian. But its hard to say. They have their way of working, and without being there, we don't know if Sid only looked a couple of times at SMAC, or every day, making suggestions and tweaks and brain-storming with Brian. We can make assumptions or presumptions, but we just don't know.
Third off, you can make arguements that Civ and Civ2 were just almost the same as Master of Magic. Similar interfaces... similar play concepts of founding cities, building roads and what not, having to have certain facilities built before you can build others higher on the tree... yadda yadda yadda. Why aren't you? Not familar with it? Too bad... I can make statements that the whole genre of world conquest games haven't evolved very far from the first computer conquest game of Empire from Mainframe days. Its the way the games work. And that's cause its how we like it.
Now, having said my peace... Why do you think it would be better if Sid had been Lead? What do you think he would have done different? What do you think would improve your FUN in playing SMAC?

What do you mean they have a different way of making a game? Sid will either make a great game and Brian Reynolds will just copy Meier. And the sequel will be just Civ Call to power, "Uh General, we lost are our techs, and uh, as necleur meltdown just occured, uh, their are seven new nations, and uh, everyone else is gonna die, uh, see you in hell, or something like that." Then Reynolds will get a whole freakin' ton of money, a stinking large hotel, and poor Firaxis goes bankruptcy. I feel sorry for your 5 points up yesterday, -10 tommorrow failure.

I like Brian and his achievements and personally I think you should get chucked of the Forum for that! (He does read this you know!) He sounds like a sound guy who actually brought some enjoyment into our lives along with his programmers!
SO... Get your tight little ass over to the Teletubbies sight and complain to them about bad games!

PS.. I dont hate Brian but Im beggining to have a distinct dislike of you!
