I think that the first thing they should fix is Miriam's incredible ability to expand. The Believer's should expand the least, since they are only here to spread religion. She should be very pacifist, until someone betray's her, which then she should be very aggresive. She should have a tremendous army, but should not use them, or deploy them other than their own territory. The Believer's also should have -3 science (Only religion matters), +50% warfare (Extremely aggressive), and +2 Economy (Lots of donations), -1 growth (are you possesed by the devil? Than die!). That cruel -1 growth and -3 science, makes her weaker than the Morgan.

I'm not to sure I agree with you on the growth aspect. Miriam is a dogmatic "true" believer the best comparison for her really is a christian version of a muslim fundamentalist. These people usually are all about having lots and lots of children and growing and spreading quickly. Also they are usually very milliteristic as is she. I do agree with you about the science though that is and should be her main weakness.

Then make that -1 growth into -2 efficiency because they usually don't work on sundays. |

I think that Miriam should be much more pacifist (Thou shall love thy neighbors). |

The Believers are fine the way they are.The spread fast because they don't have many entertainments approved by Miriam. And unlike the past, they can't hunt. There aren't any fish to catch... So that leaves drinking and loving of the classic 4 entertainments (hunting, fishin, drinking, and lovin). Drinking may be prohibited, depeneding on Miriam's beliefs, leaving Religious studies (something to keep the young ones away from...) and Lovin. Lots of lovin means lots of little ones, one way or the other. Devout people can have a fine and dandy economy, like everyone else. You ever seen all the religious paraphenalia available? And a lot of that is consumable... candles, incense, yadda yadda yadda. Or wears out quickly... And someone still has to make and sell the food, clothes, books, paper, yadda yadda yadda. Miriam SHOULD be an expanists. More souls to celebrate the wonders. Whether peaceful spreading of her people, or the forceful elimination of governments that won't allow her people to preach the Way... expansion is one of the key doctrines in any new or succesful religion. When you feel secure in your after-life, it sure allows one to do things in combat that others wouldn't dare. So its just the science minus that fits her people. And that is because she is a friggin prude about certain things... Miriam is fine. One of the few consistant Opponents controlled by the computer, and a powerful faction in a player's hands. Its Morgan that needs the help... -Darkstar |

Then I'll change it to -2 Economy (too many taxes), +4 growth (lots and lots of children), For every 2 production -1 due to overpopulation, +3 police (Strict slavedrivers), 1 drone for every 3 people (no ethical freedom). |

Drones? Doesn't she kill them immediatly? So, in fact, she shouldn't have any drones. Pacifist? She's fanatic! She wouldn't have any regard to send her people on crusades! The -3 or -4 research wouldn't affect her very much. If she uses fundamentalism politics, she never would get enough techs by her own! She will get most techs by spying, threatening... (and they say, the UoP has a lack of ethics!)And don't forget that her followers weren't believers their whole life. She got them randomly only a few minutes before the landing pods left the Unity. (Why did you press the button, Lal? Why couldn't you let those people asleep?) |

Then I'll change the drone into -1 growth (Are you against religion? Then I'll kill you), she will also be immuned to drones, and she can't have any talents. |

I'm against the kind of "religion", which, for example, the catholic church (and some other "churches") represents. You don't need a church to believe in a "god" (or something else), do you?Perhaps the believers should have a punishment sphere in each city (like the UoP's network node). This would have the same results as the fundamentalist politics in Civ2. |

Speaking on topic (perhaps), about Morgan, I think Morgan should have free energy bank, or maybe +2 economy? For now, I prefer to use first. By the way, Morgan is not that bad as it seems when you see the AI playing him. |
