Mtg... you and a few others have mentioned this. What is ACOL and where is it?

ACOL is Asian Flu's Alpha Centauri On Line site at:
http://www.an.i-dentity.com/ac.cgi/login
It is the best site for setting up, joining and administering PBEM and IP multiplayer games, and justin (Asian Flu) is enhancing it pretty continuously. I invite you, Trippin, JKM, Kitty, or anybody down to the game forum there to barbecue me to your heart's content.
It's also grown by about 60 percent in the number of players in the last month or so, with over 200 registered players now.

And this is the place you were suggesting people go to? What kind of forums do they have over there? And how easy is it to find a PBEM or IP game?

DS... the forum outlay looks exactly like this one . The color scheme is great (easy on the eyes, unlike the official Firaxis site). And I believe if things deteriorate around here then that is the best and most logical place to go.

There are several big differences between ACOL and this site - Asian Flu, the administrator, is actually responsive to suggestions to improve the site, and has recently added a general chat forum to create a new home for the people here to pick up these topics.
There is also no corporate sponsorship, selective banning of critical posters, or other B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T.
The edit function even works.
ACOL started out as a multiplayer site, but there is no reason it can't and shouldn't become the real knowledge base about SMAC, and a place for us all to talk about whatever we want.
