posted 04-07-99 08:01 AM ET Just noted, that there are patches for both a US and a UK version.
Does anybody know, if there is any difference.

I'd guess there is bound to be given that the initial files are different. As to whether there is any difference after the patch has been applied ... no idea.

I think the UK version have some extra bits of copyrighting to do, so they take longer.

The UK version has a faction editor, and a database of new graphics and sound files as well. Plus scenarios, lots and lots of scenarios ;-)
That's why it takes longer to release the UK patch, but please don't tell anyone...

Also the UK v2 patch had that "feature" which downloads resently used credit card numbers from the US as well as the ability to re-engineer your CPU to a 500mz p3, but neither of these made it into the v3 patch...

This is just a guess based on some screenshots seen in a computer gaming magazine: aren't Mind Worms and Alien Artifacts wireframe models in the US version (in UK those are sprites)?

The US game and the UK game are the same other than the fact that the US version is different because of Multiplayer settings and the Scenarios are not present. The Alien artifacts are not wireframe models in the US version. The settings for Voice over TCP/IP and IPX are different aswell because the US uses different protocols to the UK.
