I'm entertaining the idea of hosting a website dedicated to customizing SMAC and specifically good.. quality factions.
One thing I'd kinda like to see are faction theme packets. So like if you were a Star Trek nut like so many others you would have the Feds, Dominion, Klingons, Borg, maybe Maquee (sp?), Cardassians and Bajorans for example.
I'd also kinda like to see something maybe a little more interesting.. like a looney toons theme, a Babylon 5 theme and things of that nature.

How about THE GAYS! You can have Rodney Gay as the leader. They get a +2 morale and +2 fasion bonus for being gay.
Seriously - an interesting combination would be the Hippies (like the Gaians), the Nerds (like the UoP), Microsoft (Morganites), Taliban (Belivers), Commie Bastards (Hive), the Republicans (Spartans), and, of course, the UN lovey-feely peace hos. (Peacekepeers)
