I just won the game by becoming Supreme Leader, by getting a majority vote. I thought everyone had to agree in order to win, otherwise, all those that did vote for you had to take out those that didn't.

You need a 3/4 majority to win, not unanimous vote. |

Oh, and that brings another question. Is that, on a one faction, one vote, or by the normal accumulated by city vote count?

Population count vote. Like the Planetary Governor. |

I did happen once to me (on my way up to TI)that (Talent level) a suicidal Gaia refused to bend, after I was elected SL with 90%, so I had to wipe her out. Well, even if all the remaining factions still kept their Pacts with me, I had to explicitly reapply for Diplomatic Victory. |

Thats odd...I recently won a TI game after being elected supreme leader, I had 3 factions decide they didn't like the vote so I 'explained' to them why their opinion didn't matter. Anyway, when do chlorinating the gene pool, the game declared me victorious, no reapplication for supreme leader. |

The manual says (yeah, I actually read most of it) that after you show everyone who resists the will of the council the error of their ways, that you get a conquest victory. |
