I browsed my fx directory and found many "music usable sounds" like piano notes, "angel voices" and many other I have never seen used in the game. The only faction I saw to have special music is Spartans who ,when attacking, push up a warlike drums music. Once or twice I heard the "wind" backgroud sound. Almost every time I hear the same "doooooooo" background sound. Is this what you guys get? What about those "music sounds" I have never heard but do exist? Chironean

Actually I never have heard any music really. Is there supposed to be music as you play?

The factions have different music; as you noted, the Spartans get battle music. Both the Hive and the Morganites get the really cool music from the demo whenever you start a new base. I am partial to the Gaian's music, though. Try starting a new base with the Believers; that might give you angels. Also, research breakthroughs give different music (I'd imagine particularly for University). |

Anyone else find the Hive music EXTREMELY reminiscent of the Cathedral in Fallout? |

Music? Ah yes I remember I heard some tunes when once playing Sparta. But in the rest of my games there was merely silence. I miss music too, I played the demo and liked it. But I've never heard it again in my full version (which is German) - I've tried to disable EAX etc but I suspect DirectX to be responsible for that - I installed 6.1 before installing SMAC. Whose music works? What are your sound specs then? |

Playing University, I occasionally hear scarcely audible background sounds (so faint that I cannot tell whether they are meant to be music or atmospheric sound effects) when all SMAC sound settings are set on full (which is the default) and my speakers are at maximum volume; which makes the sounds of battle, etc, much too loud for comfort. |
