Ok, so most of us agree that the Bulk Matter Transmitter secret project really sucks. At the cost of FIVE nessus mining stations it only provides the benefit of two. Big Whoop.
So I was sitting here, and I thought: What if it did something useful? Which brings us to the meat of my plea for help: I want to know if there is a way to edit the functions of the secret projects. I would love to change it so that it provides a Psi Gate in every city for free. That seems like a much better application of instant matter transmission.
Looking in the alpha.txt, the wonders are listed and followed by a string of binary. I think this relates to their function, but I have no clue how to edit or change it.
PLEASE FIRAXIS, if you could share this information with us (or at least give an answer on whether this is possible) I would be your undying slave ... or something.

The string of binary following the wonders is a yes/no for whether a particular style of AI will choose to build it (for example a 1 first means an aggressive AI is much more likely to build it than a peaceful AI).
As far as I can tell you can only edit the cost / pre-req's for the SPs, not the function.
On the other hand, the BMT provides +50% mineral production in every city, not +2 Mineral production so it's not as bad as it's made out to be.

Thanks JaimeWolf, that makes me feel a little better. Maybe it's a text/manual typo, then? Because it *says* "+2 Minerals in every city". maybe it means +2 industry?

Well, the Bulk Matter Transmitter is great when you have clouds covering/blocking your satellites. . .
