I think an interesting idea for a random event would be a visitor from another planet. Arriving on alphacentauri, we already find absolute proof of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. I think it would be great if firaxis included as an EXTREMELY random event, a visit by extraterrestials (ourselves not included). Maybe they could start up as another "faction," or perhaps they could pull out some bombs that put planet busters to shame. Or maybe they are even peaceful, but what fun would that be??? Oh well, while I am wishing, I would like a big mac hold the pickles. Oh by the way, though this is a little off topic, if you want to help SETI out of the University of Berkley scan the skies, check out: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/
Its a very cool idea in my opinion (though i am not sure how many of you smac players will ever have your computers in idle).
Oh yeah, and yin, sorry for annoying you a week or so ago, it was very immature of myself to purposely set out to bother you (though i must still say, quite fun )

By the way, your additions to the MASTURBATION WONDER made me laugh.
I almost never laugh.
By the way, the alien idea is a good one. It would be great if there were a Special Project--like Alien Interface--that would allow you (and you only) access to their advanced technology or to make a pact. To balance it out, though, maybe every faction would have to declare war on you for keeping the interface to yourself...

Yes, its amazing what progress can be made over the simple discussion of masturbation...hmmmm
Perhaps that is what our leaders and diplomats should turn to, as that they can't seem to get anything accomplished. A course in political science perhaps.....
