The great prophet Nostradomus predicted World War 3 in 1999 is it going to happen in Europe or Asia...
Right now in Kosovo many believe this conflict could spread to Macdeonia,Greece and Turkey.
Today Russia is drilling there army for a state of emergency.And Russia declared that they will lift sanctions on Serbia and commence trading immendiately.Now what does Russia plan to trade????
Nuclear weapons I don't think so...
AAA Guns maybe....
SAM Batteries probably....
Russian peacekeeping forces good chance....

Greece and Turkeey are quiet at the moment but can soon erupt with anger.
This is the European prepective right now....
Probably we were fousing to much Asia, maybe the real World conflict would happen on NATO's doorstep in Europe....And Nostradomus prediction might finally come true????

Nostradomus predicted an earthquake would knock New York City into the ocean in 1992 or 3...I forget. . .According to one interpretation. So, yeah, Kosovo's a hotspot, and yeah, WWIII could come any second now (Not bloody likely, IMO), but NOT because the Big N said so. . .

But Mike a war if offically declared by Serbia against NATO is a war against 19 nations that sounds like a awful lot to me.And with all the confusion going on over there what if Crotia and Bosnia starts taking sides in this conflict?????

They are still recovering from a war only a few years ago, what is to stop them from get somewhat involved here..

Well, World War I was started in Sarahevo, and WWII was just a continuation of the first war. If it happened once, it can happen again.

Besides, at any time in the world, there are usually several wars going on. These are the secret wars that America doesn't get involved in (yes, there is a world outside the US! )
Civil or otherwise, war is a fact of life for many people: Central Africa, Eastern Europe, South America and Asia are all blackspots. The victims are usually the civilians.

Without Russia, no WWIII. That's for sure. Russia is an uncertain factor, but I don't think they've lost ALL their common sense. As long as the NATO keeps the number of Serbian casualties down, the Russian people will not want a war. At least I hope they won't.

But Ascendant for christ sake the man predicted the very month and year when graverobbers will dig up his grave.
He predicted the Great Fire of London in 1666.
He predicted the deaths of several monarchs.
He predicted the French Revolution.
He predicted the rise of a young boy in Corsica who will lead the French to victory and collapse.. This is the history of Napoleon.
He predicted a man named Mitler will take over Germany and cause twice as many deaths than from WW1.
He even predicted the river Danude where this man Mitler will be born. This all leads to the history of Hitler.
He predicted a nation with a red flag and circle in the middle will start WW3.This is has to be China.
But if the conflict should erupt in Europe and if Russia gets involved.What is to stop China from causing a distraction and attack Taiwan and Eastern Russia....
Now of course that scenario I just made has a very unrealistic chance of happening, but who knows?????

One more thing I should mention 3 of the 5 permanent members of the United Nations are conducting this attack on Serbia.This is United States,France, and Great Britian.

Now what is to stop the other 2 members Russia and China from trying to profit from this situation.

Everyone is saying that Russia is weak now that they don't pose a threat.My I remind you that Russia still has 20,000 nuclear-tip missiles waiting to be launched or even sold to Russian allies for a very good price $$.
And yes the Russian army is very de-moralized right now, but don't you think a World conflict will quickly make these troops combat ready and excited to regain Russian territory.Likely targets Estonia,Lithunia,and Ukraine.
Communist leaders in government would beg for something like this to happen so they can easily topple Yeltsin and take over Russia.Doesn't that remind you of WW1 when Lenin toppled the Romanov family for getting involved in WW1...

A war is about to start with our American forces at risk and you are worried were we post it.
Like I said before I posted this topic in Non-SMAC and here just to get every forum member involved in this conversion.
So if you will please stop following the ****ing rules and just give a comment to the situation that would be helpful.
Now if the moderator of this forum wishes to close this thread I can understand.But if he or she has a nationalistic view to the situation then he or she wouldn't care were we post our worries and views....

Baltic States: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

What would really be a sad thing is if this WWW III actually did happen, not because it was going to happen anyway but because some idiot in China thought they had a prophecy to fulfill.
Now all this Nostradamus stuff makes me sick, especially since he's known throughout the world. It becomes so easy for some madmen in power to think they were the ones Nostradamus was talking about and then go out and do a self-fulfilled prophecy.

Everyone says Russia's no danger, but I think they are the worst enemy the NATO could have! They are far closer to a good and big army then anyone else and they could do some more with it then causing trouble - therfore I fear the reations of Russia. I hope they don't tease it too much...

I think that those of you who point out that WW I started due to an event in Serbia miss a little detail about why that war started.
During that time period, various nations had alliance with each other promising to help the other if another nation declared war on them. When war was declared in response to the Archduke's assasination, it triggered a bunch of other nations to declare war on their allies' foes.
So, is there a Triple Alliance running around nowadays?
(IOW, while WWIII may or may not start because of this, the situation is not "just like it was before WWI" as others claim.)

You need to read his predictions without the commentaries of some panic-mongering sensationalist author. Read the prophecies and MAKE YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS. You'll see things in a different light, believe me

The problem with prophets, is that they say everything in the most vague terms. To make matters worse, those "Prophet Shows" only tell the good half of the story, "accidently" neglecting to mention the misses. WWIII could sadly happen at any time, and I do not believe because some guy with a funky name living centuries ago said 1999, the world come to an end in 1999. If I am wrong, oops...

If wwIII breaks out before the European patch for SMAC v3.0, or CTP for that matter, is released - I'm going to be really mad.
Seriously, though, I don't think the situation in Kosovo will result in a wider conflict. Already the Russians are backing down. It will certainly set back international relations on several fronts, but cooler heads will prevail. Right now it's just a lot of sabre-rattling and posing for CNN cameras.
I do, however, think that Operation Allied Force will be the first and last military offensive mounted by NATO. I don't even think NATO unity will last until the end of the bombing campaign.

I'm not sure this if has been brought up yet, but Nostradamus's predictions don't apply well for Kosovo. Wrong time, wrong place. It's supposed to be a Middle Eastern leader (It's pretty scary just that he knew in the early part of the millenium how unstable the Mideast would be today) and it's supposed to happen around July.
Did I just imagine it, or is it supposed to be more specifically on July 4th. I thought I read somewhere that he said something about 'the feast of the eagle'. I don't know about you people, but I'm staying in the basement for most of that day...

If I remember correctly I thought Nostradomus said it would be around the year 2001, not 1999. I might be wrong, but I could swear to god I saw that on HBO. And by the way, China is just as powerful as Russia if not more so. China has "THE BIGGEST AIRFORCE IN THE WORLD"! you can check the facts on that one. Oh, in case it sounds like it, I am not from China.

Are youpeople crazy. i say as an AMERICAN that we back out,build up our military,Navy and get ready for a World War. China has the biggest Air Force and military troops. There the most populated country in the world. They have nuclear weapons. If China desided to go to war with NATO, we might not be able to stop them. Our cruze missles are exusted.
Our fuel supplies our exusted. we might not be able to win.(the only way for us to be able to win is if we use navy power. They have a bigger airforce,desent air defences, millions and millions of ground troops.)Come on i say we and NATO countries should start building a nuke defence so that there isnt a world catastrosty(i cant spell). Whoa! How did this thread come staggering back from the dead? Anyway, if China gives any indication of being a threat within the next 3 years, we'll just hit em with an ICBM first strike. They will then be reduced to a Stone Age civilization within a matter of minutes. Also, there is no need to worry about a counterstrike due to China's sorely lacking ICBM tech. Nuclear Winter you say...just a minor inconvenience Furthermore, they would have no ICBM tech if it wasnt for Mr. Clinton's "generosity". Great move Sorry for keeping this thread alive, but I just get tired of these China superpower horror stories. They are nothing, no logistics, no modular command (all centralized), no idea what kind of pain would be visited upon them by the US.

The first could be Napoleon, the second could be Hitler (he named him Ister) and the third would be the king of the Monguls appointed by the king of the sky (aliens?) which should appear in juli 1999. Also Russians are to drunk to press the buttons to unleash armageddon.

It's supposed to be a Middle Eastern leader (It's pretty scary just that he knew in the early part of the millenium how unstable the Mideast would be today) and it's supposed to happen around July. Did I just imagine it, or is it supposed to be more specifically on July 4th. I thought I read somewhere that he said something about 'the feast of the eagle'. xgalaxy	posted 04-01-99 01:51 AM ET If I remember correctly I thought Nostradomus said it would be around the year 2001, not 1999. I might be wrong, but I could swear to god I saw that on HBO. And by the way, China is just as powerful as Russia if not more so. China has "THE BIGGEST AIRFORCE IN THE WORLD"! you can check the facts on that one. Oh, in case it sounds like it, I am not from China.

China has the biggest Air Force and military troops. There the most populated country in the world. They have nuclear weapons. If China desided to go to war with NATO, we might not be able to stop them. Our cruze missles are exusted. Our fuel supplies our exusted. we might not be able to win.(the only way for us to be able to win is if we use navy power. They have a bigger airforce,desent air defences, millions and millions of ground troops.)Come on i say we and NATO countries should start building a nuke defence so that there isnt a world catastrosty(i cant spell). Anyway, if China gives any indication of being a threat within the next 3 years, we'll just hit em with an ICBM first strike. They will then be reduced to a Stone Age civilization within a matter of minutes. Also, there is no need to worry about a counterstrike due to China's sorely lacking ICBM tech. Nuclear Winter you say...just a minor inconvenience Furthermore, they would have no ICBM tech if it wasnt for Mr. Clinton's "generosity". Great move Sorry for keeping this thread alive, but I just get tired of these China superpower horror stories. They are nothing, no logistics, no modular command (all centralized), no idea what kind of pain would be visited upon them by the US. Wolflord
