I concur. Deirdre wouldn't torture anyone, nor would Lal.Deirdre would assign them to a farm to tend the vegetables.
Lal would send them to reform school.
Morgan would probably find some more profitable way to deal with a defeated foe such as assimilating their talents in his datalinks manager (DLM).
Zakharov would probably conduct some heartless experiment to determine what makes them tick.
Yes, Santiago would kill them quick, after they were beaten to a pulp in the deathmatch boxing ring.
Yang would send them to 1984's room 101: total intimidation, followed by complete indoctrination as a propaganda tool, then if they were of no further value they'd receive an unexpected laser shot to the head.
Miriam? Depends which Miriam: the thoughtful, considerate, loyal Miriam of the prelude story; or the touchy, finger on the trigger Miriam of the game. If the former, she'd endeavor to convert the captured leader to her cause by appealing to them to repent, or if they refused, would assign them some menial chore as a lesson in humility until they did repent.
In the darker world of the game, Miriam would either pray for their souls as she had them executed; or would convert them to zealots in her cause, by Mind Correction if necessary when that technology became available. (MC would be Miriam's refined adaptation of Nerve Stapling, justified as correcting an immoral lesion in case of lesser offences, or as exorcism for the more seriously aberrant).
