Playing University, I researched Planetary Networks to get probe teams. I noticed that the default design used the Speeder chassis even though Doctrine:Mobility wasn't available yet (using V. 3.0). Bug or Feature? Also, when is the manual index going to be posted? It seems a long time ago when Tim Train said it would be out soon :-)

I haven't tested this, but can you then change the weapon to something other than a probe so that you can create any speeder you like without Doc:Mob?James |

I don't have my game with me, so I may be wrong, but I think it's a feature. The Probe Team is one of the "predesigned" units, meaning that it can transcend normal unit restrictions. It's the same reason you can build mind worms before you have Eudaimonia (and the psi defense advancement), although that's a more specialized case... |

Yes, you can replace the probe team with some other package - for example I designed and produced a rover before I had Doctrine: Mobility.Another bug in v 3.0: If you are producing something at a base, and discover a pod with enough minerals to finish the production at that base, and then switch production to something else, all the minerals are not transferred to the new production - you lose all the bonus minerals obtained from the pod without any kind of warning. (I'm talking of a production that need less than 10 minerals) |

I don't think the lost of Minerals is a bug because it's been like that since Civ [to Civ2, now SMAC). It would be nice if the minerals are carried over to next production, but oh well. It's a fairly annoying oversight, but minor compared to other stuff. |
