How can i change the resolution of the game and the readme says something about Direct3D support, how do i turn it on and what does it do?

To change resolutions, you just set the "Video Mode=" line to either 800 (for 800x600) or 1024 (for 1024x768). In order to play at a higher resolution, I believe you have to first disable DirectDraw before attempting to change the "Video Mode" line to the desired width.
As for Direct3D, there is no D3D support in this game. You probably misread the readme, as there IS DirectSound3d support (DS3D) as well as EAX support.

The help files seem to be a generic set included by EA. They mention accellerator support but there isn't any.
