I d/led the v3.0 patch from 2 diffrent places, but niether of them work. The first one I got from the Gamespot page, that d/led in about about 1 second, but it just sais it's not a valid windows appplication when I try to open it. Then I tried from a diffrent site, but when I open it, it tells me that the old file was not found, and that it won't update. Help if you can.

Hey dude, I had the same problem until I uninstalled "GoZilla download helper". I use IE4.0 and now it works great!

Common occurence, especially behind firewalls and proxies. If your rclick on the link and select "save location" you should be fine.

You propably have the UK version of the game. Apparently the patch only works with US version.

Dreadnought's right---whether you have the patch correctly or not, you cannot patch your files if any of the file-to-be-replaced do not checksum to what the patch expects.
As might be if you'd modified your Alpha.txt file or faction profiles.
I was good, and had old copies of the text files lying around. If you don't have old copies....

I had the patch refusing to work problem. I saved the *.txt files I had modified, uninstalled, reinstalled, applied the patch, copied the modified files back and everything seems fine.
