Is it me or is the talent difficulty level a virtual QUANTUM LEAP from Specialist level? Geez! The prototype factor ALONE makes it incredibly more difficult; add in 2X agressive AI & you seemingly have a huge jump in difficulty to the point of it becoming less fun to be challenged.

I was playing as Yang and had 3 factions declare vendetta on me just for my Social Engineering settings! The other faction shared a continent with me and just kept building cities on the borders constantly shrinking my property. After I refused to offer up credits or tech, they also declared vendetta.

I generally try to play the diplomat no matter which faction I play and it is becoming increasingly difficult.

Anyone else?

That's just about the way it goes Justice. I believe it's that way by design. My first game at the higher levels I played on islands, which helped me to get a feel for the added difficulty without getting pruned in the first 20 years. Second time is a game I'm just finishing, and it's a real struggle in the early going. I like it though. Good luck.

Best way I've found to deal with early neighbors who you know are going to disagree with the social choices of your faction is to invest some effort in pruning them first thing. If you don't, at the higher levels, it will likely be real struggle. The game I'm just finishing as Dierdre had Believers only about 20 squares to my southeast. She was pruned from existence before my 20th turn. And thank god for that
