To Yin26 and everyone else who has taken it upon them to point out every minor flaw in this game-
WARNING: HERE COMES THE BRILLIANT FLASH OF INSIGHT!!!
If you don't like the game, please don't play it.
END BRILLIANT FLASH OF INSIGHT!!!
I don't like any computer games, except SMAC, Civ, and some of the older SimCitys. I could go onto the forum of every other game ever created and say "Hey, your game is really pathetic" but I don't. Why? Because A) It's an opinion, and B) Nobody cares. For your work in pointing out a few bugs, I'm sure Firaxis thanks you. But really, what's the point in, when somebody reports a bug, saying "Yeah, that's right, and FIRAXIS is horrible because of it and we all hate Sid" Seriously, If you like the game, play it. If you don't, return it, or if you don't have that option, throw it away. Id there are specific bugs, then just post "Here is a list of my bugs" in the Troubleshooting forum like everyone else. Some of us, as hard as it is to believe, actually enjoy both the game and this forum.
BTW, I've played SMAC for more hours than I can count, and it's never crashed once on my machine. If it's a game problem rather than a system one, it sure is picky.

You obviously haven't been around the past day or two. I, personally, have reached a kind of SMACceptance [I put it in the dictionary]. For me, patch 3.0 will be the deciding factor.
Now, if you don't want to spend your time discussing the game's faults becuase you think that a person can't both A) point out things that should be better and B) enjoy playing the game, that's the way your brain works. Good for you.

You may not believe me, but I DID do my homework before posting this. I recognize your effort, and commend it. But here are some post from the last few threads, certainly not all yours, but including some.
Oh, and I took the liberty to correct some spelling and grammar errors

Don't you realize you are doing what you pathetic dweebs have always done?:

SMAC sucks so bad that there is no reason to waste money on it. Just get the rip and play all you want of that lame game,
that's what I'm probably going to do.

I think the reasons for Firaxis not including this feature are on of the following:
1) They think we are too stupid to notice. 2) They WERE too stupid to notice. 3) They were too lazy to bother.
Is there ANY good excuse for this kind of combat resolution? Even ONE good excuse would be a start. If not, I'd be happy to write some excuses for you...

Besides the fact, of course, that it's boring as hell. But that's quite apart from the assertion that it's incomprehensible.

"I humbly beseech those gathered here to pay homage to Firaxis and this neeeearly flawless game, however, if I may be so bold..."
I don't have time for it, Giant Squid. O.K., I do have the time for it, but it makes me sick.
I'm not mean just to be mean. If you would just accept a little humor, you'd probably see that I have the same criticisms that you do. Unless, of course, you honestly think this is a flawless game and discussion of how it could be improved is just a waste of time. In which case, I can appreciate your opinion. Please appreciate mine.

I know. I don't make it very easy for people to agree with me. I tend to go out of my way to add a lot of sound and fury just (in many cases) to signify nothing but some harmless criticism.
I blame the power lines near my house.
They made me put the numbers in since Yin is too short. My e-mail also uses 26 because that's how old I was went I started that e-mail account. Now, well, now I'm a bit older--but not at all wiser {insert happy face here}
