I noticed alot of SMACophants bashing my ally and buddy Yin26 on this forum.

I remember how some of you bash wissenshaft, wish I no longer see here.Well I am not going to allow another friend to be exiled for his or her views.

May I offically declare myself Yin,Freddz, unclerlogy, and wissenshaft's ally for there courageous posts and anti-kiss ass topics unlike others I have seen here since day 1.

I will hold back some names........

If he or any other gamer paid $50 bucks for this buggy game then they are allowed to be heard and answered in a dignified manner.

If I have to come back here every minute and notice topics with individual names posted trust me my replies would not be so polite.

Can we all this get along.....

Okay. There is no "declaration of war." The only declaration of war was arguably your posts. I have read some of the people you mention's posts, and they have been mostly rational and give explanations behind their rhetoric (uncleroggy & yin26, to be specific. I can't judge the other two you mention). You, on the other hand, have given not much more than flames, IMHO. You say this is a buggy game? Are we playing the same game? I have found bugs, for sure, but I've played buggy games, and let me assure you that if you complain this badly about SMAC's fairly minor bugs, I fear what you think of other company's productions.

By the way, what games do YOU like Undertaker so we know what you are comparing SMAC to? Then perhaps we can have a more rational discussion.

Yes, he is a CTPer. I've seen him on Apolyton's site. My guess is he works for Activision.

Undertaker ...

Right On!

Let's quit talking about the game and just get into name calling sessions about how others are much less noble than ourselves.

What fun is it talking about SMAC on the official SMAC forum anyway? It would be nicer to abuse others who have opinions differing from our own. That is what we are all reading this forum for anyway, right?

And best of all, lets never give any reasons for things we say as we call someone names. Heck, the reasons are obvious, why even bother noting what those reasons are. That might backfire and cause the forum to become more rational and discuss things based on facts rather than just continue on as a shouting match. And a shouting match is much preferred, don't you think?

We should make a list of all the people who post here that we can poke fun at. That way new people don't even have to read any posts at all ... they can just start in calling people names based on our list.

And by all means ... if you ever read a message about playing SMAC (with questions about the game - oh dear!) just ignore it. The person posting it here obviously is deranged and should know better than to try to discuss SMAC on the official SMAC forums!

Best Regards,

CaptComal

"Day 1" Interesting you should put it that way. If you have been here since day 1, I have been here since Day -72. All the nastiness started once you people showed up, we were a peaceful, quiet forum community.

Say, do you use Windows? Oh... and you still call this game buggy. Well I suppose some people will complain at the smallest fault. Shigata ga nai.

As for CTPers, you're not wanted here. We will not tolerate sabotage and slander. Those Civrapers (see Dictionary of SMAC, 1st ed.) down at Activision couldn't make a game half as good as SMAC if their lives depended on it!

About a declaration of war: we're all people aren't we. We don't "declare war" on people, countries do that, but I would be happy to flame you newbies back to whatever dark hole you crawled out of. Forum will not tolerate such abuse, and we will fix your attitudes, and remove you troublemakers and rabblerousers. We will have order, we will have tranquility, we will have peace! AMSG

Victor Galis you made me laugh for 5 mins straight good job buddy.
You talk of newbies, let's compare my earliest post to yours.
And let's say you made a post a few weeks before me which I doubt.
My popularity out weighs yours by a mile.
With one single post "REALISTICALLY CAN HUMANITY REACH AC IN 100 YEARS. All other topics that week was ignored.

Also notice I made my first post only 8 hours after SMAC arrived in Manhattan,New York.
It only took me 6 hours to come to the conclusion this game sucks. It took others longer.
I achieve 150 replies in just 6 days.100 in only 4. A forum record I believe.Tell me of your past posts which generated even more than 50.
Popualarity counts if you have something which people want to see and write,I don't think you have that skill.
So if your so-called D-CLUB can handle the pressure then let's get it on.We can both start recruiting if you wish.....

Undertaker: Fine. Call SMAC coming out Day 1. But I for one have been here since June, long before the game came out- around Day -200. And I know people who were around before me.

That topic that you're so proud of, by the way, was already discussed to death back on the forums before the game came out. But it's a good topic still, and I can see the people not here back in the old days ready to discuss it. But one topic does not a superstar make. Your ego needs a serious popping. Sure, I could have gotten a ton of attention when I was a newbie by posting a bunch of topics and flaming a side, making me instantly known. But instead, I've merely hung around, made the most intelligent posts I can, and I think that I have at least a somewhat respected position by now through time. Your "popularity," on the other hand, is mostly negative and totally artifical. I'll remember MikeH or Yo_Yo_Yo_Hey long after I've forgotten Red Dog or chrisk.

And oh yes, that is not the forum record. That is held by "Theism vs. Atheism: The quest for truth," started by JB. That got 100 responses in one day. I remember checking the thread at 5 o'clock and seeing about 70 responses on a new thread- and 70 long responses too. That went on to have a full 3 threads devoted to it. And I can remember several other threads that didn't quite fill that fast, but filled faster than yours.

Correction: that should read "I checked the forums one day" and "Theism vs. Atheism: Searching for the Truth" instead of what they respectively said.

Therein lies the choice for my name.

I knew I would raise the dust a bit, but not to create a dichotomy. Yin-and-Yang are opposites, true, but they are integrated. They simply form two sides of one coin.

Thus, everyone who disagrees with me is not my enemy, but my trusted counterpart.

Errrr, Undertaker:

Victor Galis (not to be confused with "Victor") has been around far longer than you have.

"Victor Galis" has been posting since before October of 1998. On the other hand, you have only started posting on 11. January.
======
Now, about your post:
Victor Galis you made me laugh for 5 mins straight good job buddy.
You talk of newbies, let's compare my earliest post to yours.
And let's say you made a post a few weeks before me which I doubt.
My popularity out weighs yours by a mile.

So if your so-called D-CLUB can handle the pressure then let's get it on.We can both start recruiting if you wish.....
line 1:
a comma should be placed after "Victor Galis..."
"5 mins straight" is improper. it should be "5 minutes straight" or "5 min. straight."
"5 mins straight good job buddy" should be separated into "5 minutes straight! Good job, buddy!"

line 2:
"You talk of newbies, let's compare my earliest post to yours" should have a "so" in between the comma and the "let's"

line 3:
"And let's say you made your post a few weeks before me which I doubt" should be rewritten as "Furthermore, let's assume that you made your first post a few weeks before me, which I doubt."
"victor galis" has been around on the forums far longer than you have. he's posted over 500 times, and was registered before you. see above.

line 4
"My popularity out weighs yours by a mile" should be rewritten as "My popularity outweighs yours by a ton" because miles don't weigh, and out weighs is one word.
What is your definition of "popularity"? I am curious, as most of the responses you got were generally demeaning to your person. I find it hard to believe that such comments could be construed to be a sign of your bourgeoning "popularity".

line 5/6
"With one single post 'REALISTICALLY CAN HUMANITY REACH AC IN 100 YEARS'" is a sentence fragment. What exactly did you accomplish with that thread? It seems to have set you up to be disliked by most of the people here. Also, many of your "facts" in that thread were incorrect; I shuold know, because I was the one who corrected many of them.
"All other topics that week was ignored" is improper. It should read "All other topics during that week were ignored." It is also a gross exaggeration. For that week, I posted in at least 5 other threads, including the I club, CWAL, and various Faction threads. Furthermore, most people have more time to post than just on one thread. I would also like to comment on the fact that over 3/4s of all registered forumers did not make one post on your thread. Your thread was also not the only thread to be placed at the top of the Game Forum stack; which suggests that people were posting in other threads as well.

line 7
"Also notice I made my first post only 8 hours after SMAC arrived in Manhattan,New York" should be rewritten as "Also, notice that I made my first post a mere 8 hours after SMAC arrived in Manhattan, New York." I fail to see the point in saying that. many of us have been posting far before the Game was even playtested, betatested, turned into a demo, and modified. Therefore, I fail to see the relevance in that blatant brag "I posted only 8 hours after SMAC arrived..."

line 8/9
"It only took me 6 hours to come to the conclusion this game sucks. It took others longer." There should be a double space between the period and the "It". Also not everybody arrived at the same conclusion you did about the game. You have complained that the game wasn't realistic enough, and that seems to have been the extent of your complaints and the sole topic you have posted on. Please, tell me a realistic game. I would so love to go out, get it, play it, and tell you why I think that it's not realistic. Furthermore, you don't seem to have convinced many that the game stinks; with your blatant insults, flaming, and spamming, it is hard to see how many people give your opinion as much credence as to a beta tester (BG), or a understandable and now-tolerable (after he stopped flaming, yin26).

line 9/10
"I achieve 150 replies in just 6 days.100 in only 4. A forum record I believe.Tell me of your past posts which generated even more than 50." is incorrect. It should be "I achieved..." because it was in the past. there should also be a double space between "days." and "100", and between "believe." and "Tell". The first two sentences' material should be reversed, due to stylistics. the "even" in the last sentence is unneeded. finally, you did not "achieve" 150 posts. Other people posted on your thread. choose your diction carefully.

line 10/11
"Popualarity counts if you have something which people want to see and write,I don't think you have that skill." Popualarity iz missspeld it shud bee "Popularity". There should be a space after the comma. Also, you obviously hold everyone who disagrees with you in low esteem, so i don't think that there is much credence to that last comment; Indeed, several forumers have responded to his posts. Otherwise, you would still be trolling here without a large influx of Forum veterans who don't wish to come here after the first few days. Also, many of your other threads have not met with similar success; One long thread does not a Important and Popular Poster make.
"So if your so-called D-CLUB can handle the pressure then let's get it on.We can both start recruiting if you wish....." should be rewritten as: "So, if your so-called D Club can handle the pressure, then let's get it on. We can start recruiting if you wish..."
Victor does not need to recruit. Many of the Forum Veterans, while not hating newbies, dislike those of your type- the ones who are exceedingly vocal, insulting, and often misinformed.
======
Finally, if you think that SMAC sucks, why do you spend an inordinate amount of time here complaining and flaming everyone else who likes it?

Hopefully he will join with us though. If not, leave him be. That's what these forums were built on, and that's how we should strive to remake them.
