First, I like everyone to know that I just purchased and I love it.

My question about the Thermal Borehole is this.. When completed the borehole it is supposed to provide an increase of 6 to both minerals and energy for a square. But, in my case it only provided 2 extra of each. I noticed that these 2's have shadeing around them in the base map. WHY? I am sure it is something simple I am over looking.

Thanks in advance.

Kyle

Simple, you lack the required technology to get more than 2 energy or 2 minerals per square. I forget what the tech's are, sorry, just look them up in the datalinks and research your way there. (planetary economics maybe one????)

Also, the thermal borehole does not increase the mineral/energy production by six, but sets the production of the square to 0 food, 6 minerals, 6 energy. So put them where they do not ruin your food production.

Actually, it *sort of* increases production. It replaces the base terrain values with 0-6-6, but you still get bonuses for landmarks and resource bonuses. So, frex, a borehole on a river in the Uranium Flats with a mineral bonus would give you 0-8-8.
