I have installed the demo of SMAC, and I love the way the game works! The only problem is, I dont know how to do everything! For example, I noticed the "University Base" kept on getting "larger" in size. My base was still a puny little thing. How do I expand and make new bases? How do I get food and water, or whatever. I'm so used to playing Starcraft:Broodwar, that this game seems like it was made for hardcore Civ.2 players. I've never played that game, nor Civ.1, but this game is highly talked about, so I installed the game from my current PC Gamer issue. If someone knows where I can get some step-by-step instructions on how to play the game, I would greatly appreciate it! OH yeah, if you have the time, coould you please tell me how to play? I know that those darn instructions are for pro's, but when someone else tells you the instructions, that person breaks it down into "simpler" terms. Thanks in advance!

For one thing, forget the demo. The game is a few thousand times better, and comes with a manual.

To get resources, click on a city. There's a screen in the middle showing the surrounding terrain. Decide where you want to put your workers by clicking on the square. It should give you food (helps your base grow in size) minerals(builds units and other stuff) and energy (money, tech). For more, try
