I feel like the diplomacy is quite one-sided. Nearly all vendetta's mean that I am ignored when I initiate a faction xmission.

When the other faction finally does talk to me, they demand all kinds of things... technology, money and so forth. Even if I am beating the other faction into submission, they initiate the conversation by begging for mercy and offering money.

Why cannot I, once I am talking to the faction leader, demand all kinds of obeisance? It seems like this ability is denied to me.... I demand my tribute!

PS new additions I'd like to see are:

1. Airborne transport units

2. Stealthy probe teams - yes, can't even see them on the board! (SMAC rolls a dice for detection during each move). It would be nice to sabotage someone, not get caught, but more importantly the other player (mplayer) not even seeing the color of the probe team

About your 'wish list'
Airborne transports exist- you have to custom-make them in the workshop, but I think they can only carry one unit at a time.

Invisible probes- 'stealth' technology exists, under I think the 'Frictionless Surfaces' technology.

If you download the patch then the probe teams are "de-flagged" automatically: no colors.

Should have said "download and install the patch". I hope you understood, but I wanted to be sure.

you can ignore their transmissions too, if you want to.
However, they do seem to have an inflated view of their own effectiveness when they enter negotiations so they demand tech/money from you when you're whuppin' them.
