In a game I was playing, Lal of the Peacekeepers had been elected Planetary Governer. Eventually, the Spartans eliminated the Peacekepers, and when this happened I tried to convene the council to elect a new governer. But the game responded with a message that the Planetary Governer election could only be called once every 20 years, and that eight years remained until another election could be called. (I was playing with "Don't restart eliminated factions")

It would seem to me that after a Planetary Governer was elected for the first time, if the governer was eliminated before their 20 year term was up, anyone could be immediately elected to a new 20 year term. Other alternate solutions might be, have the game automatically hold a special election to elect a new governer to finsih out the remainder of the current 20 year term, or have the second place vote getter from the previous election (the Lt. Governer?) fill out the remainder of the current term.

Just some ideas for any future patches! Meanwhile, back to my Vendetta against those pesky Spartans.

I agree. You would think that another election would be possible after a governor is killed off.
