Completed my first game, I made quite a lot of mistakes along the way but achieved Trancedance at 2470 playing Citizen. I played UOP and stayed ahead more or less all the way through.

Gaians surrendered 2300ish Santiago & Yang surrendered eventually (about 2440), Miriam was just holed up in her little continent so I let her be...

I enjoyed it quite a lot, there's a lot of the original CIV "Oh my god it's 4:00 AM!" addictivness to it and it was quite fun, very easy for the last 100 years or so though, I never really felt threatened. I built all the secret projects except 1 which Yang got.

I think I'll try Librarian out and see how I do, how did other people get on with thier first game...?

Exactly the same experience!
Except that I got all the projects.
I achieved Tramscendace too, got the stonehenge movie, but in the scoring analysis (F9 or F10) it reports Diplomatic Victory.
Indeed I went for it before, but Gaia went rebel, so tha game said me I'd have now to crash her to get to Conquer Victory.
After I got her, I had Pact with everybody, but the game wasn't over yet, so I had to reach transcendance.

I went for Citizen for the first game as well. I reckon a good CIV2 player should cream it at that level and achieved Transcendence in 2391,with just Morgan and the UN boys left unconquered. 131% and 3512 points. Now for the more difficult stuff!
