You can move you diplomacy window around to look at the map. For example when you want to share battle plans, or when you want someone to cede over a city. What you do is left-click and hold just outside the diplomacy window, either on top or to the side, and drag it away. It won't work if you click in the window itself like with all the other ones. It has to be slightly outside. Don't ask me why. Phew! This thing has been bugging me for weeks, and last night (because I was tired I guess) I accidentally clicked out side the window and dragged. And to my surprise, not to mention delight, the damn thing moved.

So, while we all excavated bugs, Sauce found an egg, finally? |

Hey, I'm not a guru, I just try to keep up with the slang I pick online. As I got it, an 'Egg' is one of those nice little useless features Microsoft puts in their apps. You follow a strange procedure (open Help, About.., Ctrl+click in the window's crossframe,.... or something like that) and get a cute credits list, a snoring Bill (Gates) movie, a pinball to play with, or the like. Of course an egg should be intentional, this sounds more like a bug; being a not a bug in the gameplay or formulas, but a bug in the interface, it makes it look like those strange manoeuvres to get the eggs. More, even if a bug, the fact that it turns out to be nice entitles it to eggness (eggity?).This made me feel like I'll never evolve past newbee. MariOne |

Also, knowing I'm prone to endless talking, I wanted to keep it concise for once.As a matter of fact, I hate the fact that some of those dialogs move and some others don't. That is one of the stepbacks of the 'shoul-be-improved' SMAC interface. I'll have now to try to click anywhere in the screen, like for that final Lions blind jump in Indy's Last Crusade. Darn! |
