Yes, at the main menu just click scenario and select create a scenario and you are there. It looks like there is alot more to it then the Civ2 editor and it is better also.

There is a helluva lot more to it! It takes hours, literally, to create some killer scenarios.

I love the game but the scenario editor leaves a lot to be desired. Examples:

1. If I select a brush size bigger than the cursor it takes some gussing to see where the stuff is gonna be placed.

2. Sometimes objects are placed not at where my mouse or the cursor is.

3. The buttons of the Multi-Function-Display stop working until I end my turn if I use CRTL-SHIFT-RIGHTCLICK. I know the manual tell me to just use SHIFT-RIGHTCLICK but some have said to use the other one.

4. Why is the scenario editor part of the main game? Wouldn't be easier to use the Age of Empires type of editor?

5. The unstability of the editor.

6. Generate random map takes forever.

I know most of this is another thread but nobody's answered me yet!! Any advice on how to overcome this fustration would be nice!

At the risk of sounding foolish...
I just started using the scenario editor today and I can't for the life of me figure out how to raise hills. The "elevation" tool (the 1 key) fills in water with land or vice versa, but clicking again does not raise the elevation. How do you make hills and mountains?

You're not viewing it in flat terrain mode are you?

I've tried it in both terrain modes.

DeeJay, to raise the terrain you can hold Ctrl down and each time you click it will create a land 1 level higher. Or you can just press the Scroll Lock key and then you can just L-click without holding down ctrl and it will place down the terrain. Go mess around with it and click several times and watch as huge mountians will rise up. Oh also to lower terrain is the same way except you R-click instead.
