In my most recent game, Yang tried to planet bust one of my bases, but the handy dandy oribital defense pods thwarted his plan. He had been pushing repeatedly to repeal the UN Charter so he could get away with this; I have since fed his worthless carcass to the mindworms the old fashioned way.Question, though: Why isn't an attempt at planet busting noticed by the other faction leaders for what it is? It would have been a honest-to-Planet atrocity had the defense pods not been in place. There should be sanctions for attempting to use planet busters. It's one thing to hold them as a deterrent...another thing entirely to use them, even if they're intercepted.

I agree it should still be considered an atrocity. Think about it, if The United States suddenly launched nuclear missles at Canada i think people woudl be rather unhappy, wether or not they actually make it. i think it was probably just an over-sight when they made teh game, because it is silly otherwise. |

You're right Conservator. It should be an atrocity to attempt to planet-bust. I don't know this for sure, because I haven't tried, but I'd bet if I launched a PlanetBuster and it was caught by an Orbital Defense Station that all the factions would declare Vendetta against me! And that would be an extremely unfair and crappy little cheat for the computer to use! If my statement is right, Firaxis should definately fix that in a new download. |
