I would never even have thought of asking for a new color palatte to compensate for R/G color blindness (I am color deficient in that category). So, thanks! Will it work on multiplayer when everyone else is not using it?

I too would like to tank the guys at Firaxis for listening to my(and other's) suggestions along these lines.

It came up in several discussions about what colors should be used. I mentioned the problems I had with some of the racial colors in MoO2 and Civ2. As I said above, I'm glad they listened.
My guess is that it will work in multiplayer.

They should work since the color changes are purely cosmetical. I haven't bothered to download the 10 MB file, so how does it work? I mean, what colors are the new graphics?

I am red-blue-green color blind. i am also DL the alternate right now
This is another example of why i tell people that Firaxis is setting a new standard in the game industry. Thank you.

The new colors are much brighter and easier to distinguish for us color deficient types.
