Is there a limit to the number of orbital stations each city^H^H^H^H base can build? is there a limit to the total number of orbital stations built? Where can I see how many (and what type) of stations have already been built, and their effect upon production?

* I very much doubt there's a limit to how many satellites each base can build-- once a base finishes a satellite, I believe the satellite has nothing in particular to do with that base (it gives its benefit to all bases equally, except the ones without aerospace complexes).* Dunno if there's a limit on number of satellites per faction, or number of satellites total. * For a breakdown of satellites, check the "HQ" menu-- I believe there's a choice named something like "orbital status". That panel lists all the satellites of each faction, broken down by type. You can also use that panel to shoot down other factions' satellites. (I don't think there's a way to see how much benefit any given base is getting from satellites.) --A2

A city may only send up a number of sattelites of each type equal to its size. That is, a city size 2 can have 2 of each type of sattelite. I'm not sure what happens when a city with maxed out sattelites losses population, or when the city is lost. |

Did anybody experience the use of orbital defence platforms? It seems that the computer doesn't build rbital platforms in my games yet and i've never got nuked (I'm not too sad about that). |

hmm.. I just have over 30 Defense Platforms in Orbit but I get nuked each round, so I wonder if they are good for anything. |

First off, there is no limit as to how many satellites any one city can build. Any city can build as many as they like. However, you may only get the benefit from a number of sats of each type up to your population. So, for instance, if there are 15 Hydro labs, 12 Mining stations and 20 power sats, and you have a city pop of 13, that city will gain 13 nuts, 12 mins and 13 pow. Hitting F6 will give you the skinny on how many sats you (and every other faction) has. I've NEVER been successfully nuked. Either my orbital defense platforms have kicked in, or they sacrifice themselves. At the very least, a sacrifice is 100% effective. I'm kind of curious how you've managed to get nuked every time, Zippe.... Gardener Geraden |
