The datalinks says nothing about it but
from what I read in the manual there should
be a differnce between energy and projectile
weapons. Is it true that certain armour only
works agains energi weapons and vica versa?

If so I guess one should be able to overrun enemy bases by using weapons that they havn't got armour against.

There are notes in the Alpha.txt file about this (I go straight to the source for documentation - haven't even finished reading the manual yet). Normal (value 1) and Synthmetal armor are physical, Silksteel and Photon are energy, and Plasma and some of the higher ones (I forget the names) are combined. Energy weapons are more effective against physical armor, and physical weapons (Laser, Impact, Chaos gun) are more effective against energy armor. Missiles get no bonus against anything, and nothing gets a bonus against combined armor. I am still trying things in the game to figure out how much of a bonus this really is...

look in the rules.txt file, it says something about the bonus but I don't remember how much it is.

I beleive either Tim Train or Brian already covered this one (I was curious too), but there is no longer any such bonus in the game. If you read through the big in the ALPHA.TXT it looks like what it DID do was that if your opponent DIDN'T have the right armor for your weapon, you, the attacker, got a little bonus (never saw how much this was to be). Evidently somewhere in the middle of development the gang felt this would make for just too many modifiers for folk to deal with and so it was removed from the game.
