Is there a way to play with less than 6 AI Factions on a random map/game, not using the Scenario Editor, and making a Scenario with preset starting locations?? Using the Editor works but isn't much fun because I'm seeing the map, and the placement of all the other Factions. I would like to create a random map, and when the game starts limit the number of AI players to something less than 6. Is this possible? Maybe by changing one of the .TXT files? Seems like an option that should have been included in the setup of the game. Any Ideas??

I haven't seen any switches, but I created a waterworld map with almost no land and the computer started me with only two other factions on a normal-sized map. It also didn't play them very well. It kept trying to use land units when there was no land. Hard to make new cities without sea colonies, and it wasn't making them, or sea formers. That one may work as a scenario, but it doesn't look too hopeful as a plain map! |
