I have an AAA Chaos Cruiser with the unit rating (8)-<4>-6*2 AAA. I know the *2 is fusion reactor, and the AAA is air defense. What do the parentheses around the 8 and the brackets around the 4 mean?
More importantly, is there a list of all these codes somewhere? If it's in the manual or the datalinks, a pointer to the exact location sure would be appreciated!

The () around the attack means the unit can conduct artillery attacks. The <> around the defense is the indicator for AAA rating. Dunno any others off-hand.

the *2 means the unit has 20 hit points, instead of 10. (X2 defence).
make sure you put "Clean Reactor" as a special ability on your AAA Chaos Cruiser.
