How to stop a unit in midst of following previous orders???

I like how there is a G in the unit's banner so I know that it has "GOTO" orders it is going to follow. I also like that if it is not moving yet, I can just click on it and choose CANCEL ORDERS to get control back. However ... I cannot find a way to tell a unit to STOP MOVING RIGHT NOW!!! I get into situations, where one unit's moves reveals enemy units where I did not expect them ... and then the next unit starts automatically moving into harms way. I do NOT have them moving quickly (I like to watch them move around) ... so I can sit for 4 or 5 seconds watching a plane move across the board where I no longer want it to go ... I try hitting various keys, but cannot find a way to stop it. Surely there should be a STOP EVERYTHING key?! I read the manual and Strategy guide (Prima) but did not notice how to do this. Did I miss it, or is it true that you can't get there from here? Best Regards, |
