Hey Imran! Long time no see!

Of course I remember. Both the 10,000 mark on the test forums in November (remember, I HAD the 10,000th post because I posted posts 9989-100001 at ~4 a.m. Eastern time :-) ).

I also remember the big celebration of hitting the big mark on the ORIGINAL forums in August.

Of course, I also remember when we has DO MANY MESSAGES on the forums that we crashed the thing and it was down most of October :-( for setting up the new test forums that lasted until December.

Anyway, how many people remember when these were the factions (this is a copy of the original message from sometime in like July):

A) Conclavists/The Lord's Conclave; Sister Minam; A religious group; The Believer.

B) Stepdaughters of Gaia; Lady Deirdre Skye; An environmentalist movement. The Green.

C) Morgan Conglomerate; CEO Nwabudike Morgan; A group of arch-capitalists; The Mogul.

D) Spartan Federation; Corazon Santiago; Military-oriented; The Survivalist.

E) Keepers of Wisdom; Keeper Pravin Lal; The Philosopher.

F) The Labyrinth; Chairman Sheng-ji Yang; Values science above all; Big Brother.

G) University of Planet; Academician Saratov; The Scientist.

As you can see, they changed:

1. Saratov to Zakharov (didn't think it was genuinely Russian enough).

2. Keeper Pravin Lal of the Keeepers of Wisdom to Commissioner Pravin Lal to Brother Pravin Lal of the Peacekeeping Forces.

3. Changed the Labyrinth to the Hive, and eventually the Human Hive.

4. Changed the Morgan Conglomerate to Morgan Industries.

5. Changed the Lord's Conclave to the Lord's Believers.

6. Changed Sister Minam to Sister Miriam.

7. Changed the nature of the Labyrinth philosophy of the pursuit of knowledge and concentrated more on the Human Hive's pursuit of collective community.

8. Changed the Keeper of Wisdom humanist philosophy to the humanist philosphy behind the bureacratic Peacekeeper faction. Thus they changed from a faction of philosophers to a faction of people from various backgrounds adhering to the humanist and liberal values of the original mission.

The Gaians and the Spartans didn't really change at all. The Morganites only changed name slightly.

Sorta neat how some of the factions evolved from Firaxis' original conception of them to the finished conception.
