Well, I finally beat the game on Transcendance Level. Of course it was the cheater way of using the Gaians and the Mind Worm Romp, but I did it in one setting, 12 hours, on a small planet with abundant life forms, and Iron Man. Oh, and I beat it on turn 2300 by a diplomatic victory because for some reason it wouldn't let me win by military after 4 people abjectly surrendered to me. Argh was that irritating, I could have won on turn 2253 by conquest... Boy was this a change from my usual game of being the UoP on a huge world on Specialist level. But at least the game wasn't totally unbalanced as my last opponent was Miriam, and she had about 24 sea bases as compared to her 6 land bases, so for 80% of my battles I didn't get my 3 to 2 advantage. Fortunately, when I first started fighting Miriam the Sun started acting up, and we had solar flares so nobody witnessed me using all of that bio-warfare or razing those two bases of hers that had more people around them than America has corrupt politicians. But for some reason after I did that she would no longer surrender to me... Of course razing those two bases did cost me The Maritime Exchange, The Citizens Defense Forces, the Command Nexus, and the Merchant Exchange, so that hurt in the long run. The only other faction to be totally eradicated was the Hive, and that was because they got hemmed in REAL early by UoP and never could expand, so when I came along they still only had The Hive, and he wouldn't submit. So I killed him by diverting two worms from the UoP front. |
