Just wondering, does SMAC require the CD to be in the drive while you play? I like to sell my games after I'm done, but CD drives tend to scratch 'em up a bit. Also, does anyone know if this applies to Civilzation: Call to Power? This will affect my buying descision. Thanks!

I loaded it once while accidentaly not having the CD in the drive. The game told me some features would be unavailable without the CD. That's all I know (since I stuck in the CD and played on). |

Thanks. I guess it's like Civ II in that respect, then. Anybody know about C:CTP?Lack |

It depends how much you install ... it will play without the CD but you will be missing those things you didn't install. I use this to advantage on my NT machine because the movies don't work so I installed without the movies and don't stick the CD in.James |

Well, seeing as C:CTP ain't out yet (AFAIK), I don't really see how he could be speaking about it... :-) |

BROTHER GREG!Long Time no see! Where have you been? I think the Peacekeepers turned out very well, you agree? Our faction is truly wonderous, as we hoped. Arnelos Peacekeeper Keeper of Wisdom |

Hmm.. If I try to start the game without the CD it doesn't work, so looks like the UK version requires the CD even with a full install and the US version doesn't |
