Yeap, people from Alpha Centuri will come back to earth. Dreidre and UofP gonna win the battle, AC will be out of ressources.
Then Firaxis will produce the real suite to civ II.

no no.. what will really happen is that life will again re-emerge on earth from the nuclear ooze and over the melliniums will change from simple single cell organizmz to full civilizations! it can have 500,000 turns and span 5 billion years!

no no no, all the factions will say too hell with Planet, go back to earth, only to find the nuclear holocost changed all life forms to mind worms and fungus

The invasion of Mind Worms and XenoFungus.
You land on a new planet. Try to build a new society. You send your Mindworms out to explore, and get your fungus crops growing in the alien environment.
Its just that there are these really nasty bipedal creatures that keep showing up. They keep building chemical plants upstream from your lovely colony and send industrial waste oozing downstream into your colony killing your fungus and causing your mindworms to develop cancer.
Somewhere along the way, your mindworm explorers find the statue of a lady holding a torch buried in the sand.
