posted 02-21-99 11:31 AM ET I just had some really nasty reaction from the planet. It rushed about 20-30 mindworms into my capital. My defenders had psi defence strength 8-10 with all bonuses and the worms' attack strength were 2,5-4. I lost all 5-6 defenders (the last one with 90% damage was destroyed by Hive missile), but they didn't get into my city.
Luckily I had mag tubes so I could bring in some reinforcements from other cities.
The eco damage rating was about 40 in that city. I guess I'm going into greener environment this time.
I love this game, it's just full of suprises.

The key is to attack before the mindworms attack you. For example if there are 10 mindwormd in 1 square, killing one, will kill the rest in that square.
By the way my city had 100 ecodamage and I had 10 Greatboils attacking me every turn.

The only time the mind worms rushed me was when i was preparing for transcendence. Many of my forests blew up and demon boils popped up in 4 places. 20 each. Luckily I had some elite grav hover thingies, or they would've infiltrated. They picked on my first cities, who were fortified with scout patrols and scout rovers, whom I never botherd to upgrade.

Artillery bombardment also does wonders. It'll rip em to shreds before they reach your cities. They aren't too bright, these worms. Attacking a fortified position with only 5% health remaining...
