This is not likely a bug, but the manual (p.154) states that the basic production for forest squares is 1-2-0 (as opposed to 1-2-1 in the game). This is clearly not a typo, since in both p.43 and p.48 it states that forests produce nutrients and minerals, but not energy. I just wonder why it is changed in the game? This one extra energy has a significant impact on the balance of the various terraforming methods. It possibly makes forest the best way of terraforming for most squares (even rainy/rolling, unless you make it produce 4+ energy with elevation and echelon mirrors). With TF and HF, forest yields 3-2-2 (other bonus also applies, and you can drill river for 1 more energy), and on most squares it is very difficult to top that production.Also, I think mining is totally useless.
