I thought growth is just dependent from ones surplus food - when the tank is full: hop! a new minion to serve me. "Ah sweet bottle of mine from whom i was decanted" (or something like that) 2) How does Unit Support work? Do people get uncontent if the units leave their homebase, state borders, any friendly cities??

1. I'm not sure what you mean. Bonuses increase your growth rating, which decreases the amount of time to produce that next citizen. 2. If you police is less that 2, yes.

I believe that growth bonuses (or boni if you prefer, I have a friend who would argue plural forms with me for months if I let him, so I know where you're coming from) take effect in the form of reduced amounts of nutrients needed to produce the next citizen. The tanks still fill by simply adding your extra nutrients each turn; the number of tanks needed just decreases. The secret project (I forget the name) that causes a population boom at every one of your cities bypasses this system, simply causing the city to grow EVERY TURN if there are enough nutrients available with the available workers to sustain the additional population unit.

Thank you for your prompt advice - I will check this out asap. But - I'm really curious about your thoughts where I come from - I mean no, I don't use any accent or idioms (do I?).
