Hi. Hoping you folks, or maybe the folks at Firaxis (if they are reading) could help me with some problems I'm having on my first play of the game. In case this matters - I am playing the Morganites at Talent level

1) Despite building the Weather Paradigm, my formers still build at regular speed, i.e. 4 turns for a farm, etc.

2) I am able to do advanced former activities, but the thermal borehole I built will only give me 2 energy and 2 minerals! Why not 6 and 6? Do you have to wait for a certain point to get the benefits of a borehole?

3) My artillery only seem to hit about 33% of the time. Is this usual? Do artillery with more morale hit more often? Do you hit terrain enhancements easier than hitting cities? Are artillery more likely to hit when they are shooting from higher elevations?

4) When I took over a base, it maintained the old form of the other faction - cool! But when another faction took over a different base (not mine), it changed to their form. Shouldn't the bases always stay with the original appearance? If this is true, when a base is taken over by the Hive, does it get the free Perimeter Defense?

5) Is there an email address to send questions like this directly to someone at Firaxis?

Hope people can help with my questions.

Thank you,

Aaron

1) Weird. Don't know about that one?

2) There are three techs you need to go over the 2 resource limit (food - not sure (Centauri Something I think), minerals - Ecological Engineering, energy - Enviromental Economic (Build 5)

3) Note, that artillery cannot kill an enemy unit, so if the shot would kill it it misses instead (I wish it would do partial damage .. I have seen several times a unit with 70% dmg get "hit" repeatedly by artillery and not get damaged down to 80% or 90% dmg ... grrr!). Other than that, artillery will hit miss depending on the usual factors I think. It ***seems*** to me that artillery ***seems*** to do better on high terrain.

4) Yes, conquered cities get the perimeter defense when conquered by the Hive.

5) Don't know.

1) I believe that the turns noted in the Terraform window are only the expected times, ie you're actual time will vary. Watch a former sometime and see how long it actually takes.

3)* Artillery attacks on enhancements hit 50%
* +25% bonus per level of altitude
* Land based +50% vs naval
* Defender smooth or rolling +50% defense.
