Can I download the technology tree as .pdf-File (or something like that) to print it out in smaller format? I simply have no room for the huge poster and don't want to unfold it each time I have to look at it.

Back in the day, way before this site was started, on the firaxis forums the idea of a smaller tech tree format was kicked around. I voted for some type of bound set of index cards, but I don't recall the debate ever settling on something. I can't say much good about the poster, I'd much rather have a nice painting on the wall. As to your question, hough, I have not seen one around.

Indeed, the current poster is a bit unweildy (and the prerequisite lines can get confusing, but that's the nature of a good tech web).
Dreaming on: how about a 3D model of the tech web, so the prerequisite lines don't have to crisscross, displayable in some sort of auxillary app? Something for somebody to lay out, data-enter, and code in their CST...
