Whenever I play as the University,I can pick a technology to research.If I play as someone else,I can pick only the general directions explore,discover.. Can I change between modes and how? |

When you start a new game one of the menu will ask you which rules you want (current rules, standard rules or customize rules). Select customize rules and turn Blind Research off. |

It's got nothing to do with which faction you are playing. The choice is made when you start a new game, by editing the rules. I think the default is 'blind research' (ie: build, discover..etc) But you can choose to have a choice if you wish, through 'custom rules.' |
