posted 02-17-99 04:15 PM ET Is there away to call a vindetta before attcking an enemy nation. I am playing a Diplomatic game. One of the computer players has set a colony pod right in the middle of my nation. I tried asking the nation for the city, but did not want to surrender all of my techs. I have to take the city. What would cause the least diplomatic turmoil?
IE how do I declare a vendetta. Computer players can do it to me even though we have never "gone to war".

The only ways to get to vendetta are to attack the other player or try to tick him/her off so much that they declare vendetta. The latter is better for your reputation, but harder to achieve. Unfortunately, you can not declare vendetta like the AIs can.

Just attack it, since the result is the same. If you have a pact with that faction, right-click on their name in the commlink menu and select renouce pact.

Actually, sometimes you can get another faction who hates them to ask you to declare a vendetta on them. If no one hates them, you can always pay someone to hate them..., then they'll ask you to declare Vendetta, so you do. You might even be able to scrounge up a Pact that way!
