I never have really played civ, or civ2, but i got the Alpha demo and loved it, but i am pretty confused on some of the gameplay. Is the book with the full version helpfull for a new player? How helpfull is it?

The manual is good, but the table of content sucks, so im constantly thumbing threw it trying to find what I'm looking for. PS. If you never played civ 2, go get it! |

The manual is terrible. Most everything is there but is not at all easy to find. Despite being almost 200 pages there is no index. That is insane. Additionally, it is poorly formatted, won't stay open, and the graphics are too dark to see what is being illustrated. I love the game. Hate the manual. Lets have a spiral bound book with an index next time around. Or maybe this is so they can sell a strat guide for extra $$. |

Lack of an index makes the manual frustrating to use but, hey, this is TBS - plenty of time to flick through the pages |

The Strat guide is already out. The layout is much better than the manual. But.. Dont get your hopes up. It has suggestions for war, and playing styles. It has every facility and tech. It has every Secret Project, and every ability listed. Good descriptions for everything listed above. But thats all that I have found useful in the book. Well the general prinipals for war was interesting. Nothing really blew my mind on impressed me. Oh and by the way. The Strat guide is bigger, therefore stays open, but its a standard bind. ...yea...Did...I..mention the free prize inside. |

Make a searching machine for the game... Shouldn't be too hard... Maybe it shouldn't give more than the page number as the return. |
