I was a morganite, my opponnet was the fanatical religous female. She hit me so i retaliated. upon hitting the garison at one of her bases i not only destroyed it but the city as well. I did not instruct my units to obliterate the city just to attack the garison unit they then moved into the city and it disapeared. Why Could it have been artillery usage ?

Was the population of the city 1? The population goes down by one with every defending unit that's destroyed. Your last attack might have killed the last citizens in the city.
