posted 02-15-99 09:54 PM ET OK, I'm playing the computer--I've conquered 1/3 of the planet -- the other two thirds are held by two comptuer opponetns -- BOTH have units that have "10" attack value, and mine are still 5! Plus my units' can't attack their air units...
IS there any point in going on? Can I possibly catch up?

It's never over until the fat lady sings (as the saying goes). Try diplomacy. Try skullduggery. Try outright theft if all else fails.
You still are able to catch up. The question is if YOU can...

I assume you're talking about the 3 conintents in Planet and that you're holding one of them. One short term solution to ward off attacks is to build aircrafts to sink any of their troop transport ship that come your way. If you don't want to fight air units, just leave your cities empty, air units can't take cities.
For the long run, build your own troop transport and steal their technology (probe teams! first infilerate datalinks to check what they have!) and if you can, frame each other repeatedly so they start fighting so hard they'll not even get truce.
Once Miriam had over 26++ aircrafts in one base dangerously close in preparation for a coordinated air-attack followed up by troop coastal assualt. What I did is to sneak in an Isle of the Deep (with troops abroad) and attacked their airbase. Aircrafts often don't have armor, so they were all sitting ducks. Bwahaha!

"Aircrafts often don't have armor, so they were all sitting ducks. Bwahaha!" Do RANT While I HATE this ... when it makes absolutely no difference to the price to have armour on the plane why doesn't the @!*&$# auto-designer put it on??? Every time I research a new technology I spend a couple of minutes upgrading the auto-designer's old designs that it keeps adding to my list! Loop

Jaime, why don't you turn the auto-design off then?
