posted 02-14-99 05:47 PM ET Is their anyway to kill the planet? I don't want to join it in Trancence or anything like that, I want to exterminate it. The only way I can think of doing this is to destroy every fungus in the world, but I'm not even sure if that will do it. Anyone got any ideas?

I wish I did. I like being an eco-villain and do all sorts of terraforming. I end up being attacked turn after turn by growing fungus and mindworm/locust rushes.

I have killed every fungus in my territory for what good it does. I LOVE the free market system and say to hell with planet. I also usually try to kill of the Gaians as they are SO dedicated to the planet. Towards the end of the game though planet REALLY makes me pay though by constant attacks and constant fungus growth.

Just use planet busters on every square inch of land so it'll be a water world then you'll have basically no fungus problem except for land but that's easy to take care of =)

Do the worms stop coming if you get rid of all the fungus?

No the game will start destroying your emprovements by creating fungus in a square and the plague of Mindworms keep coming. In one case I had to wait 3 min for all the mind worms and locats to finish attacking my city. I lost the city, figure. 1 inf/vs/12 Mind worm (Big ones)
Note to those on the water, Locuists replace mindworm. <Resistance is futile>
