Author Topic:   THERE IS STILL A BUG ---- FIRAXIS

I read the manual that there are 4 paths to victory. Conquest,Diplomatic,Enocomic,and Transcedance.
WEll ladies and gentleman I played as Provost got the votes to be SUPREME LEADER of the PLANET.But two factions were against me becoming leader so the other factions joined with me to destroy the 2 factions that defy me.Well later on in the game I conquered and elimated the 2 factions.Guess what I am still playing were the hell is my DIPLOMATIC victory that I won in the election.Please help me here anyone. And please post if u experience so sort of bug when it comes to VICTORY.

Well, Undertaker, there are (technically) six ways to victory. But five in your average game:
Cooperative
Diplomatic
Conquest
Economic
Transcendance
So, the question is, did you turn off cooperative and/or conquest victory? When you destroy other players when they defy you as Supreme Leader it reads in the Datalinks that this is NOT a "diplomatic victory" but instead becomes a conquest victory. So this could be the problem.
If you left conquest on but turned off cooperative, there's the other end of the deal. When you become Mr.Supremo everyone lines up behind you. So you either have to find another way to win, or just pick them off.
If not, well, just wait and be patient. I trust Firaxis to fix things.

Hmmm....try calling another council to elect yourself supreme leader again, now that you've disposed of the two impudent factions

Hey Pregotive and others thx for u replies.Ok let me give u the whole story I had 3 out of 5 factions vote for me to be Supreme Commander then it says the MEASURE PASSES..They a graphic of a man in a stadium of some sort I guess that's me in my inaugural.Ok then 2 factions the SPARTANS and the MORGANS doesn't agree with me becoming leader I guess because I drop planet busters on them some years ago.So then the leaders who voted for me automatically declared war on them.And I automatically got pacts with them also.Ok now I coordinated battle plans and stuff about 23 years later I only had the SPARTANS to deal with I had a amphimbous soldier march in the city then it showed me a graphic of her being tortured and erradicated.Ok I said to myself the game should be over now.Nope I was still playing for about 10 years later and still no victory.Now I have all the standard rules of the game on meaning cooperative,econimic,conquest,diplomatic,and transdence on.And ohh yeh Morgan was elimated also so guys if u can explained this to me I will be so honored.And u know I am a little worried now about other victories having bugs like this one??????

Ohh yeah PAW I cannot no longer choose SUPREME LEADER in the council no more.It's like when u salvage the UNITY CORE after u do it is over no more.....

UndertakerAPB, you won. The game continues because if you want to continue to play, you can. But the game "ended" when the messure passed and you saw the splash screen. I guess it could prompt you about continuing..

This seems quite odd, Undertaker. I completed a diplomatic victory not 1/2 hour ago. There were four factions left.
Morgan (that was me) Lal (my submissive pact brother from very early on) Deirdre (pact sister for 100+ yrs, I was Green) and the enemy of humanity Yang. The vote was numeric, like planetary governor, not yea and nay by faction like unity core or melting the polar cap. I got the message "Morgan Victory", I don't remember "measure passes". After that, the graphic in the stadium??. Then in some sequence which I can no longer recall (getting old or else overSMACed ) final interlude, replay , Hall of Fame (if that's the right name) and option to continue playing without further scoring.
I return to the apparent difference in voting process, numeric vs. yea/nay. How could you get the required 75% with 3 of 5 votes rather than numbers? Only other thing I can think of is - Were you planetary governor when the vote was taken? I was. Don't know why that would matter but maybe it does. I'll check back later; this is all quite odd.
P.S. Don't take offense, but you aren't playing a warez copy, are you?

Thx Jeffrey for u reply but if I won how come I was inducted in the HALL of FAME or something since my hall of fame is empty.And Mongoose I apoloize it's getting old for me to it did say Zargorav won but then the 2 factions defy me.I never had a end game message after that concil so i just went on to beat those two factions and still after i captured the last base of the faction it didn't say anything.Which i think is not good since u should have some sort of graphic or something to tell u u finally won and here u are in the HALL of FAME and again my hall of fame is empty so....Please help me out here i did save the game at the point were i was going to capture the last base...

Yes Mongoose i was governor but according to your win u didn't have a defy faction.I did. I had two of them so i went ahead to kill them off still no hall of fame message or game won screen....And i am sorry again it was a 3/4 measure something

No I am not playing a warez copy I pay for it in Software Etc. I then registered it with firaxis --Jeffrey can verify that and I mailed in my $10.00 rebate with Baggage at www.gamelord.com...Thx for asking though heheeheh.
