When did you finally, after months and months of waiting, did you get the game? Post the time and date and comments right here!

Got it today at about 1:30 pm in Fort Wayne, Indiana from EA Direct! It's 7:12 right now and I've been playing all day!

I got it on 2-11-1999 at 11:30 central time. I've enjoyed what I have played so far but yesterday I did not really have the time to get into it. Today I expect to be playing all day. |

Got it yesterday at the local Computer City.I only got to play it for a few hours, before I had to move onto more urgent tasks (ie: whatever my wife wanted me to do..), but the game is definately worth the cost.. One thing-- I kept looking at the year indicator, worrying about the 100-year limit.. :-) It is going to take me a while to realize I don't need to keep hacking the save file. My only complaint so far is that the automated formers seem quite inefficient.. |

Got mine on 2/10 at 5:30 PM...the first time I walked into the store to see if it was in (and as it turns out, the first day it was in at that store). Been too busy playing to say much on the forum, though. <g>I agree that the formers can get lame. I've had to rescue a few that got busy running (literally) around in little circles. And I've had the dickens of a time convincing the suckers to lay magtube. I probably need to set most of the formers to base-only improvements, and just some of them to chasing madly around the map going who-knows-where (and on a huge map, who-knows-where can be a loooooong way off!). But it's still good to be able to avoid some of the micromanagement. That was one thing I got tired of in Civ II...having to manage hordes of engineers. I can avoid that in SMAC, at least. |

Got mine at San Francisco's CompUSA yesterday (Thursday) at 5:30 PM PST. (Good thing I live in the Bay Area!) As well, I've been too busy to post on this NG. |

I think the formers only run around in circles if they're run out of things to do. It would be nice if they would automatically revert back to manual control when this happens, though.("Automatically revert back to manual?" Talk about a paradox...) |

I don`t think that u`ll believe me, but I got mine copy of SMAC on 02.11.`99, 7.30 PM, and it`s 2 day`s old. But, I haven`t time to play it yet, just a quick snapshot, and I`m allready waried. It`s only 104.247.296 bytes long on CD, and, as I red some topic`s, I realised that I should have a regular instalation etc. etc. So far, I can play it just from the CD, and nothing more. :-) |
