Deirdre, Im afraid I must leave you. I was drawn to you from the first time we met. At first it was your lovely countenance, but then I came to understand the depth of your wisdom. Through you I learned to live and grow with harmony and understanding and, after those lessons were learned, to Walk the Planet and hear its Voice. You have been a faithful companion these many months, and I have never forsaken you. We have mourned our occasional defeat, and grown from the experience, and gloried in our victories. But, as all children must grow and finally leave the nest, I, too, must spread my wings. I yearn for the mysteries of the Others, who have previously been enemies and occasionally allies. They, too, have lessons to teach, and I must hearken to their call.
Take good care of our beloved children, Spike, Teaser, and especially little Fluffy. They need to be fed twice a day, and they prefer Hive or Believer. Mindworms are so finicky. Know that when I am gone I will not forget you or your wisdom. But will you recognize me when I wear a new face? Will you show me the same kind and considerate attention?
So, until we meet again. I may return. Time will tell.
